Overview
I'm a PostDoc in machine learning at the Intelligent Data Analysis Group at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany. My current research interest include kernel methods, feature extraction, and open source software. My publication list gives a more complete picture. On some topics you may also find short overviews. I'm also involved with teaching.

- Released version 1.0.2 of jblas
- plsdof, an R package for degrees of freedom for partial least squares.
- twimpact, a minimalistic twitter retweet trending/user impact metric website has gone live.
- Released version 0.2 of jblas.
- We finally released our matrix library for java
- Our paper on speeding up the computation of degree-of-freedom and errorbars for Kernel PLS has been accepted at AISTATS 2009!
- I wrote an overview for our paper On Relevant Dimensions in Kernel Feature Spaces, together with a little bit of code in matlab to easily see the discussed effect for yourself.
- I have put up some software for my relevant dimensionality estimation method.
- The program for our workshop on machine learning open source software at this year's NIPS has been finalized. We are looking forward to a very interesting event.
- We have built a website for collecting open source software projects, hosting discussions, etc.
- The Journal for Machine Learning Research has begun to accept papers on open source machine learning software. More information can be found here.
